[Plug-In] Community Applications

I've been able to use the automatic docker conversion in the past successfully.  But recently I've tried several dockers and the conversion seems to work, but the docker never starts.  I get no log file, nothing.  It just doesn't start.

The latest one is: https://hub.docker.com/layers/kosdk/powershellcore/latest/images/sha256-0bd0c264854a6e83e063c3bd943fb68d590ca0cdd192c5dd6ea797ae8a956465?context=explore

I'm trying to get a docker that I can connect to and run power shell to test some things.

How do I go about trying to debug why none of my conversions actually work?

thanks

The message is not the point.

That any kind of messages are posted or presented is the point, without subscription or opt in / out option.

I view that as a more intrusive option to someone's time compared to simply hitting an "x" on a banner message.  I'm operating on an assumption that the greeting is sent with the same mechanism as the update notifications.  Since this is a community driven project, if you'd like to see the subscription or opt-in/out methodology, maybe submit either as a feature request or possibly look at the source and see if there's a mechanism that could be leveraged or write a module and provide it back to the community.

Since it's a minor action to click the close "x", in my opinion, I don't think it would justify the lines of code to enable/disable notifications based on say "holiday" criteria vs. update notifications.

I am having a weird problem when trying to install CA. Hoping someone here can help solve it.

When I install CA on my unraid I get a network failure. Got the url of the file from the log and tried to clone it from the console and got an "Could not resolve host raw.githubusercontent.com. From the same console, when I ping the url it resolves and ping succeeds.

Appreciate any help in solving this.

After banging my head against multiple walls, I finally figured out that the Indian government has asked all ISPs to block raw.githubusercontent.com

Heavy Sigh!!!

Any other alternative methods for me to install community applications?

Idea being, once I have this installed, I can then use a VPN to install other plugins.

Why can't you use the VPN to install CA?

But, to manually install

Save

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg onto the flash drive in /config/plugins

Create the folder /config/plugins/community.applications on the flash drive

Save https://github.com/Squidly271/community.applications/raw/master/archive/community.applications-2022.12.29-x86_64-1.txz within that folder

Reboot

Should be noted that if your government is indeed blocking this then it will also be impossible to install ANY other plugin via CA.  I'd personally play around with attempting to use a different DNS (eg: OpenDNS servers 208.67.222.222 / 208.67.220.220)
