Yeah I know. Documentation always lags because quite frankly it's not fun to do

So I guess that makes CA like a hand grenade.😁

Sound much like software development... You introduce 10 new features. Nobody notices those 9 features working fine, only this 1 feature which has issues 🤨

A number of app templates load images insecurely:

<Icon>http://i.imgur.com/4RhSj6J.png</Icon>

which "breaks the lock" on the CA page when Unraid is loaded over https.

Is there any way to alert developers to fix their templates short of contacting them individually? And/or can CA auto-fix the ones that are loaded on well known domains such as imgur?

What I'll do is have CA automatically adjust every icon to be https.  If it fails to load that, then it'll try and display the http (because not all of the Icons present in CA are available via https).  If it then fails to download that, then it'll display the standard question mark.  The site "lock" should stay normal until it hits an image that isn't available via https

@ljm42  Went one better.  CA will default to displaying http is https isn't available, but if you wear a tin-foil hat then if https isn't available then it won't display the icon.  Switchable in settings.

That sounds great! I'd really prefer to keep everything on full https :)

Does anyone know the secret to adding a DockerHub image to Unraid? I have the option to search dockerhub on, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I'm trying to install this image:

https://hub.docker.com/r/plasticscm/server/

I search, but it doesn't show in CA, I also tried searching for other item that are in dockerhub and those also don't show.

Did I need to turn on another option hidden somewhere?

My GUI has changed a bit in the latest version of Unraid, but I definitely do not see a whale.

  • Either your flashdrive is read-only, or has dropped offline
  • You didn't enable get more results from dockerHub in CA settings
  • You didn't search

Can't be the last two. How do I take my flash drive out of read-only mode?

I updated Unraid 30 minutes ago, not sure how the first one is possible.

Oh there's that damn whale. Thanks

For some reason I seem to be having the same problem where unraid thinks the update is corrupt and I lost access to the Apps tab. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I'll probably be doing a parity check for 2 more days before I can reboot and get it back.

@Squid

only a typo? or is there another UnRaid update around the corner?

A PR I put in to unRaid (6.6.2) was approved, and when it is released it will break CA.  Got my update out now in advance.

Updated to

2018.09.28

Compatibility Fix for unRaid 6.6.2

And it broke the plugin on Unraid 6.5.3. The button is also gone from the menu.

Tried going to http://tower.local/apps - returns a black page.

Tried installing from /boot/config/plugins-old-versions/community.applications.plg/2018.05.20b/community.applications.plg

Returns - plugin: not installing older version

Reboot  If that doesn't fix it, then delete /config/plugins/community.applications and /config/plugins/community.applications.plg on the flash drive and reinstall

Thank you for the quick response! I'll try than later or tomorrow.
edit: Good ol' reboot fixed it.

It was the plugin manager getting confused (or you tried to update / install it twice).  Pretty sure I know how to overcome it, but since it's a fairly rare occurance, it's never been at the top of my todo list due to the testing required.

Just a note that currently the application feed is having some weird problems.  This has resulted in one entire existing repository being dropped, and a newly added one today not being added.  Template maintainers may also on occasion see their templates not updating correctly.

These problems have given me the impetus to finally take control of the appfeed and create a replacement, rather than relying upon a 3rd party to host and maintain it.  The next revision of CA (due in a few days) will utilize the replacement as a default, with a fall-back to the existing one, and a final fall-back to legacy mode if necessary.  As an aside, this also gives me the possibilities for future enhancements to CA that I've been thinking about for the longest time but have been unable to implement due to the design of the current feed.

The upshot is that those users who due to their geographic location are blocked from utilizing the appfeed but are able to utilize legacy mode *should* have no problems connecting to the replacement.  Downside is that it may take a second or two longer for CA to startup.

In the meantime, if you notice that such-and-such application isn't appearing (or FCP is yelling at you), just ignore it (or yell back at FCP if it makes you feel better)
