May 30, 201511 yr Author Yup, the monitor and keyboard are attached and it's now booting. MMMmmm pizza delicious!
May 30, 201511 yr Author Yeahhhh the server is up and I can access the webpage, however even though I put the autostart=no line, it still started a parity check...so it's now doing a parity check. If there's something you want me to run at the server, let me know.
May 30, 201511 yr If you can get to the webUI, then you should be fine. I would however begin to check to see if you can access your movies from wherever you and your buddies were going to watch them. That, and a pic of the pizza
May 30, 201511 yr Author Ok, stopped the parity. All movies and music can be accessed. Here's my pizza. It's got artichokes, roasted red peppers, sun dried tomatoes, spinach, and zucchini. Plus my special pizza sauce! https://goo.gl/photos/6ETGBLbtYxeRH9ku9 https://goo.gl/photos/FmtjRpnrLTKFc3Tk8
May 30, 201511 yr Good stuff with the movies.... Enjoy the night before you mess around any further. With the server now set to DCHP, ideally you've got to set the router to assign it a static IP address so that it will never change... But, that can be done later. The Pie looks good...
May 30, 201511 yr Author How do I know the ip address of the server? Is their a command I can type at the prompt?
May 30, 201511 yr Author Ok, found it. Funny, when I go to my router and look at the devices it finds, it doesn't show my server. I can access the url main page and I can access all the folders. NOt sure what's going on there.

NOt sure what's going on there. My router (Asus) does the same thing... Not all devices always show up all the time. I just keep hitting refresh.
May 30, 201511 yr Author Ok. Just curious. Is there a reason why I would want the server set to a static IP? I only use it for storing movies, photos, music etc.

I only use it for storing movies, photos, music etc. You would set a static IP because if the server turns off, when it turns back on it may or may not have the same IP address. Even though you can still access it via it's name, things would still be faster if the IP doesn't change. Just a general rule of thumb - servers are always assigned static IP addresses. Everything else can be either static or dynamic. (On my network, the only things that are dynamic are the wireless devices - all wired devices are static, with the address set at the router not at the device - that way if I change the router everything will still work as is)
May 31, 201511 yr save the damn pizza I was looking forward to it what the damn hell is a zuchini anyway ?

May 31, 201511 yr Author Sadly I wasn't able to save the pizza. Happily, I thoroughly enjoyed losing the patient! It was certainly the best I've made so far. It took awhile but I finally figured out how to make a really excellent pizza at home.
