How to take a snapshot of Virtual Machine through WebUI??

In the old VM Manager there was the ability to take a snapshot of a Virtual Machine, has this ability not been carried over when VM Manager was merged into core unRAID? OR... am I going blind and not seeing it.

I cannot find it anywhere and I have a few Virtual Machines that I would like to save copies of incase anything should happen to them.

In the case it was not been carried forward into core unRAID, any chance of getting it back?

Thanks,

Incase anyone is wondering what I am talking about; this is a screenshot I pulled off the now depreciated VMManager thread:

You can see the option for snapshots (new snapshot(plus sign)/revert to snapshot/delete snapshot) in the options under the stopped ubuntu VM.

Was a great idea for when you wanted to test major changes to a VM that you may later regret or to create backups of virgin systems when perfectly set up.

Anyway great job all, current VM-Manager is going from strength to strength and I would love to see snapshots return!!

Thanks BRiT,

Is this a publicly reported decision by LT or do you have inside info? (I don't remember it being listed in any release notes)

Hopefully it will return soon!!

Yes, they just posted it (again?) today in the forums in one of the threads. I dont know if its explicitly called out in any release notes or if its only been forum discussions.

In my tests with the old vm manager which used libvirt for snapshots, it was unstable. Sometimes snapshots wouldn't show up later and would lead to image size ballooning with unknown snapshots. Especially with the vm running and several gigs of ram.

You can try qemu-img from the command line as I had better luck with that and planned to move the manager in that direction. Just run qemu-img --help from the command line for snapshot cli options.
