Need a low-profile ATX case

Featured Replies

I am retasking some spare components, and I need a low-profile ATX desktop case... like the Antec Overture, but not as pricy.

Any suggestions?  It must hold a fullsize ATX mobo, and must be a desktop... not a tower.

Sorry I don't have any positive advice for you, but I can tell you at least one case to avoid:

nMEDIAPC Black Aluminum / Steel HTPC 400BA ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

I bought that case a while ago for a HTPC build, and I've had many problems with it.  The power supply is located in the front of the case, and requires an internal extension cord which connects the PSU to the cable out of the back of the computer.  This extension cord doesn't make a very good connection, therefore a slight bump can cause the case to lose power.  The case seems to build up a lot of static electricity as well, so once in a while just touching the case will cause it to shut down.  I don't know if these problems are pervasive to all nMEDIAPC cases, or if its just this one, but I would avoid them all.  They aren't even all that cheap.  Plus the case is not nearly as quiet as I would have expected from an HTPC case (then again, replacing the fans would easily fix this).

Do you need the low-profile case for an unRAID build, or something else?
