Good job  :D

You seem to be faster than your own shadow making these media builds these days  ;D Are you related to lucky Luke?  ;D ;D

6.1.1 Media Build workings fine for me.

Thank you again!

6.1.1 works fine as all previous versions. Would be great if LT would offer the Media Build files as option when upgrading through the webgui.

I have spoken to LT about this, and although they very kindly considered it and even produced an initial Mediabuild it, was decided that for a number of understandable reasons due to the difficulty in producing a stable unified build that they wouldn't be able to proceed.

Some of the DVB stuff (especially Digital Devices Experimental) isn't necessarily "stable" and there were concerns that problems would impact on core Unraid functionality.

The LimeTech "Party Line" at present, and I hope that they don't mind me saying so is that DVB functionality should be implemented within a VM, although it's recognised that not everyone has the hardware to support this.

I'm looking at a number of possibilities to make things easier, but to be honest, got a lot on my plate at work at the moment, so nothing is going to be imminent.

I do, however, fully intend to keep producing these builds for the foreseeable future and publishing the links to them.

In my opinion the main problem historically with these MediaBuilds is links not working after periods of time and difficulty in finding current versions, so that has been what I set out to help with and hopefully have achieved.

V6.1.3 builds are done, openelec & ddexp links up, TBS to follow shortly..  :)

v6.1.3 OE working nicely.

Thanks.

v6.1.3 OE working nicely.

Thanks.

I agree.

Many thanks.

I'd like to try this with an older card an Hauppage dvbs. I had it working in older versions of Unraid but have mislaid my notes...

I used the openelec version of the kernel. But it seems that I need "av7110/bootcode.bin" - do I have to recompile the kernel to use it?

Im looking through https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Installing_Tvheadend_in_unRAID

By any chance has anyone got it working with 6.1.3?

What's the exact type of card and I'll look into it.

Thanks! - Ive followed the compiling a kernel instructions on the wiki but I must be making a mistake.

The Openelec version finds the card but says that firmware is missing (av7110/bootcode.bin) - I have a copy here:

https://www.dropbox.com/sh/bj56t5fixec83t5/AACBTC2LKENj8fs0gyYqweMaa?dl=0

My compiled versions of the kernel do not show as mediatree enabled (using the plugin to check). The openelec version shows mediatree but no card detected. While booting you can see the files are missing.

The card is an old one. Hauppauge WinTV-DVBs PCI which uses a philips saa7146a: http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/File:Hauppauge_WinTV_DVB-S_Rev.1.3.jpg

I was thinking the openelec version is the way forward, just need the firmware.

What's in the directory /lib/firmware/av7110/

That's where bootcode.bin should be located.

However, reading this page here indicates some problems with this driver going back a few years, I'll be honest and tell you I don't fully understand everything they're talking about but some things point towards possibly trying the Media Build Experimental build and seeing if that works.

So after failing miserably with compiling a new kernel, I had a brainwave - why dont I uncompress BZROOT and have a look.

I took the Openelec version (mediatree detected) and used:

xzcat bzroot | cpio -i -d -H newc --no-absolute-filenames

I found that the directory and some files for the av7110 in the lib/firmware directory but not bootcode.bin. I copied this file into the directory and compressed bzroot with:

find . | cpio -o -H newc | xz --format=lzma > "/mnt/user/Spants/bzroot-new"

and it works! :-)

Now to get tvheadend and cccam working.....

Thanks!

Is cccam available for x86_64?

If you don't need cccam you can try my oscam docker  :D

Yes - I have downloaded it in preparation.... Are there any guides to get clines working?

Yes there is on google  ;DD

A little bit unsure what you answered yes to.

You can't connect tvheadend directly to cccam as far as I know. You have to go through oscam if you absolutely need cccam.

Hi Guys,

Great thread, and good work on the constant updates.

My Kernel fails to load, the bzimage loads, but then the bzroot fails after 3 dots, for a millisecond I can see a Kernel error and then loops back to the unraid boot menu.

I've had to resort back to 6.0.0 to get this working... I tried 6.1 - same issue.

I can't get any logs.. unless there is a way around it?

Any ideas?

Can you successfully upgrade to 6.1.3 with the default LimeTech bzroot and bzimage?

What Mediabuild are you using?

What DVB hardware you using?

Just had another thought... Post your syslinux.cfg as well

Thanks,

The syslinux.cfg is a bit full as I was testing all versions, so the default 6.1.3 works with no issues - but I can only get the 6.0.1 to boot with the mediabuild. All the modified 6.1.3 versions failed

So which Mediabuild were you using on 6.0.1?

Stick with that for a start... IE Openelec, TBS, or ddexp.  I'm guessing Openelec is the one you want.

Only two things got changed between 6.0.1 and 6.1.3.

1.  The DVB drivers got updated...

(I can try and build a version with the original 6.0.1 DVB drivers in a few days)

2. The Linux kernel was updated by LimeTech (I can't do anything about that)

Other things to try just to help me troubleshoot.

Does 6.1.3 stock boot with your tuner attached?

Does 6.1.3 Mediabuild boot WITHOUT your tuner attached?

Have you tried redownloading the Mediabuild?
