[solved] Can't change the file system on existing drives

Featured Replies

I have followed instructions on converting from ReiserFS to XFS. Here is what I did:

Added a new empty drive(disk6), formatted with XFS

Copied contents of disk1 to disk6 (used rsync) and verified that it is perfect copy

Deleted contents from disk1

Stopped the Array

At this point I would have expected that I could change the File System of Disk1 to XFS so that it would appear as unformatted which I could format. But the field FS is not editable even when the array is stopped and hence I cannot change it to XFS. Am I missing any step? Please help !!

That is the Main Status page. You cannot change settings of the disk from that page.

Click the "Disk Link" in your case "Disk 1" from the Main Status page. The option to change (Auto, btrfs, rfs, xfs) is in there.

Example of what screen I am referring to is attached when I click Disk 1.
