Moussa
I'm interested in using the Fractal R5 case for my next build, and I wanted to stick in as many drives as possible. I know the R4 was very good with adding extra drive cages and caddies but I cannot find out online if those same cages are compatible with the R5? For example will this fit in the R5? http://www.caselabs-store.com/hdd-cage-assy-standard/ And what about this caselabs bracket, seen here in a R4 build? Basically, if it fits in the R4 case will it fit in the R5 case? Thanks in advance. Link to comment

Don't know that for certain; but based on the dimensions of the two I'd certainly think that's likely. The R5 is the same width; about 1/3" deeper (8mm); and not quite as tall as the R4 (451mm vs. 464mm). Link to comment

That's what I thought, the dimensions are very similar, but this FAQ page and Fractal support's response to a ticket (telling me to visit this online store which doesn't have any drive cages listed for the R5 ) made me think it might not. I'll probably pull the trigger though, I'm 90% sure it will fit. Link to comment
jsnas
Moussekateer: I'm really interested to hear if you tried putting the R4 (or other) HDD cage in the R5 case between the lower-front R5 HDD cage and the power supply, and if so, did it work? Link to comment
garycase
Agree -- feedback on this would be nice to have. The Caselabs extra cage is a very nice unit ... it'd be nice to confirm whether it works in an R5. [As I noted earlier, the fact that the R5 is the same width and 1/3" deeper than the R4 certainly seems like it should; but other internal components could have been slightly relocated, so it'd be nice to confirm it.] Link to comment
