So here's a really basic question:  I'm using putty to start a telnet session on my win7 box and then starting midnight commander.  Instead of getting nice boxes around the panels I get extended ascii characters.  Is there something I need to change in Putty?

Save this as a .reg file and import it.  Then open putty and select unraid-ssh and click Load.

 

*** You will probably need to put the correct host name in.

Putty.unRAID.SSH.reg.txt

Change : Window -> Translation -> Remote character set = UTF-8

 

It's your window translation remote char set in putty.  Mine is utf8

Change : Window -> Translation -> Remote character set = UTF-8
