July 2, 201511 yr Has anyone had success using OEM hardware with unraid 6? I'm trying to use my x3550 m3, dual L5640s and 32 gb ram. I had gotten it to load into unraid off of my usb drive that was in another system, but now I cannot get it to work at all. I can take the drive immediately after a failed boot on the IBM and drop it into my spare haswell i3 setup and it boots just fine. I know it has something to do with the fact that the BIOS is UEFI, but I cannot figure out why it works sometimes and not others. I tried to reset the bios to defaults and try changing the settings little by little, but no dice so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
July 6, 201511 yr Author So, I've been messing around with the settings and changed a bunch of things using the info found https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/installing-freebsd-9-on-the-ibm-system-x3550-m3.27268/. I got it to boot right up no problem. I went to reenable the LAN ports and mess with some of the other settings, I couldn't get it to work at all. Is there a way I can try to move my unraid 6 license over to a USB 2.0 drive and see if part of the issue might be it is residing on a USB 3.0 stick?

You could do it with a trial version i believe to check for this, no need to move your existing licence.
