Dell PowerEdge T320

Featured Replies

I have been watching my colleague eagerly beta his way to the arrival of v6, so I have finally taken the plunge!

But, arg, such a noob.  The Dell server I have doesn't give me the boot option!  :'(

I tried front panel, back panel, then the internal motherboard USB, none work.  "Bios boot" nada, UEFI boot sees the memory stick, at least.

Built 6.0.1 onto SanDisk 16GB, used 'make_bootable_mac'

My Dell has DellSATA; perc310, and LSI9211 in it.  It normally boots into ESXI.

Don't know what next steps I could take.  Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

Try this:

Reboot the server

Press F11 to enter the boot menu

Select the Boot Menu option

It will scan for boot devices

Go to Hard disk using Arrow keys This is the point where you get a secondary menu with the option to select the USB attached device

Select it and press Enter.

It will then boot from USB.
