July 7, 201511 yr Yes, I finally bought the Norco 4224 case. Not as big as I thought and lighter then expected. It has the updated backplanes which only have one 4 pin molex to power 4 drives. And came with a 120mm fan board and looks like a 2.5" bracket as well for smaller drives. Lots of brackets in the little box it came with, will figure out what those are. Should be able to mount a 3.5" drive or a 2.5" on the tray it looks. Is anyone using a Noctua NH-D15 CPU cooler in one of these cases? The case is 7" deep and the CPU Cooler height is 6.5". I'm almost %99 sure it will fit, but want to make sure. I'm currently using a single 120mm radiator water cooled Zalman that's been installed for several years and still working but I don't want to drill any holes into the server case to mount the radiator. Actually, does anyone here use a Norco 4224 case with an LGA2011 processor? If so, what CPU Cooler are you using? Noctua do make low profile models, but still looking.
July 10, 201510 yr tried Noctua nh-u12p se2. does not fit in 4224. about 1/2" too high. size is 5.0 x 4.7 x 6.2 inches (126 x 120 x 158 mm) (W x L x H) per Tom's Hardware. this is not accurate total height. think they left off base and height of tubing projecting from top. per noctua tubing filled with water. cooler will not work if trim projecting tubes flat to top of fins. Noctua nh-d15 is 6.30” x 5.90” x 6.33” ( With Fan) (H x W x D) per newegg. do not know if they include tubing projecting from top. mb will sit about 1/2" above bottom of case and cpu socket maybe 3/8" above that. suspect it is same radiator as u12 and will also be too high. if you are measuring total height 6.5" it will be too high. may want to contact noctua tech support re actual total height, will it fit in 4224 before purchase. if wrong, will have to take out motherboard to replace. they make beautiful coolers. may want to consider lower profile like nh-l9a. used low profile ram so no clearance problems. cpu temp not an issue as have dual core amd. ymmv.

They make a couple beautiful low profile CPU coolers, so I picked up the NH-U9S. It is like a NH-D15, but a tiny little version of it. It will fit perfect and can add another fan if I want, but would never need to.
