Norco rackmount RPC-2208 or 3216?

Featured Replies

Originally I was set on picking up the 3216 but then realized it had more bays than I needed.  Then I found the 2208 which would be perfect for me, the only things I dont like about the 2208 is that you are forced to use a special PSU and it has less fans.  Now Im starting to lean back towards the 3216 because I can use any ATX PSU but ow Im wondering if the higher price tag is worth the convenience of being able to use a standard ATX PSU.

Is anyone here using either of these cases? What are your opinions on them? And does anyone know where I can pick up the special PSU needed for a 2U rackmount case?

I found the Norco thread but it is mostly dealing with the 4U cases and doesnt really touch on these two.

Why not buy a case with more bays than you think you need, especially if it is about the same price or even cheaper? You don't have to use all the bays but buy an eight bay case now and next year decided that you need 9 drives (or more) and you will regret it. I ordered the NORCO RPC-4220 (should be here tomorrow) and will only use about 1/2 the bays to start and may never use all the bays.  However I won't have to buy a new case next year because of unforeseen reasons that I need less or more bays. ;)

Remember you can never be too rich, too thin, too good looking, have too much memory or have too many HD bays. ;D
