Plex Docker Crash

Recommended Posts

First I had a corrupt btrfs docker image. I recreated this and re-added my docker containers. So far so good. However every time my server crashes. The problem lies with the Plex docker. Whenever the Plex docker crashes I can still access the Unraid Webui, however stopping the plex docker results in an unresponsive Webui, and a according to the docker ps command still running Plex docker. Normally I proceed by killing the docker daemon (rc.docker) which reinstates the Webui, although not this time. Only solution became a hard reset. Any help or indication on how to prevent/fix the problem is much appreciated.

Oh the jiffies. I was having that cpu stall issue a few months back. It happened 5 or 6 times over a 2 week period. It was annoying because the server would hard crash. I suspected it was Plex related, but wasn't sure.

At the time I was on beta 5a, wasn't using docker, Plex was running in a xen ubuntu vm. I then updated to a more recent beta, moved Plex to docker and haven't had the issue since then.

Here's my thread from back then: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=38119.0

Are you using xen by the way? And are you on the latest plexpass version? Because a bunch of people had that issue back then but i haven't seen any reports recently. I thought the underlying problem was somehow fixed either by an update to kernel, or software or by people stopping using xen, etc.
