Well, its been a couple of years since I have been on the boards, probably a good thing. that means everything is working right.  Well I recently upgraded my tower (two new 1TB hard drives and finally upgraded unraid from version 3 to the latest 4.4.2.  Everything about the upgrade went fine until I started to use my tower again.  Now it seems that when every I access a drive in the tower the speaker will buzz at me.  Its doing it rignt now as I copy a file up to the tower. It will also do it when watching a movie.  The problem is it is not consistant, its not a constant alarm buzzing its intermediate.  and its annoying as hell.  Does anyone have any idea why its doing this now, and never before.  It still seems to be working I can copy files up and access them when every I want, it just bitches about it everytime I use it.

Are you referring to the speaker on the motherboard?

How many disk drives are now in the server?

What size power supply?

Post a syslog.  It might contain clues.

Might the "buzz" you hear be a wire brushing against a fan blade?  You might have moved them to where they are touching when you installed the new drives?

Definitily not a wire, its the speaker on the motherboard.  I will post a sys log tomorrow, we are packing the house we have to move in one week.
