Hooked4Life
What Gigabit switches are you guys using? For media streaming from the UnRaid server, is the memory buffer per switch port very important? Quote Link to comment
TCIII
Hooked4Life, I am presently using the LINKSYS SD2005 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Switch and have had good success with it. I have my two unRaid servers and my HTPC tied into one Gigabit switch downstairs and then all the rest of my media clients tied into a second Gigabit switch upstairs that is on the same LAN as the Gigabit switch downstairs. I bought these Linksys switches when they were being sold with a $10 MIR. Be aware that these Linksys switches will not support Jumbo packets. If you want to use Jumbo packets, you will have to look elsewhere. Regards, TCIII Quote Link to comment
sonofdbn
I'm using an SMC gigabit switch - I think it's the SMC8085T shown here. It supports jumbo frames, but I haven't tested this capability. No problems with it, but so far I haven't tried any streaming - just moving files around. Quote Link to comment
