Returning user. Need a bit of guidance

Featured Replies

Hey all. Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm a returning user. Been gone for a while. I have a USB STICK round here somewhere. It's a plus version so the 6 Drive one. It's an older version, way old, not sure what version but if needed I could probably boot up with it and find out somehow.

What's the best course of action to make this key the latest and greatest version?

I'm not upgrading a currently running array. I'll be starting an array from scratch.

If someone can point me in the direction of how to upgrade the OS on my USB key I'd really appreciate it!

The best thing to do is start entirely from scratch.

Before doing that, put your USB flash drive in a PC and copy the .KEY file from the drive.  It will be in the Config folder on the drive.  That's the file that "tells" UnRAID that you're running a registered copy.    With a Plus license, the file will be named Plus.key

Then just follow the instructions for installing the latest version (v6) on a new flash drive using the instructions here:

http://lime-technology.com/getting-started/

Once you have the flash drive prepared, just copy the key file to it ... then you're ready to boot to v6 and configure it.

You are absolutely the man. Thank you much. I'll post up later this week when all is up and running.

Thanks again!

By the way, as you probably know if you've been looking at the details of v6, your Plus key now supports up to 12 devices  :)
