iarp Posted July 28, 2015 Share Posted July 28, 2015 I need to remove a drive, I have prepared this drive for removal by moving all the data to another hard drive. So it is currently empty. The only instructions I find online for drive removal is to move everything off, shutdown the machine, physically remove the drive, startup and then rebuild the parity. I don't have anyone at the location of the machine that could physically remove the drive for me. Could I just unassign the drive and rebuilding without having to shutdown/remove/startup..etc? Whether you physically remove the drive or not, you will have to do a New Config, which will require you to reassign all your drives. Make very sure you assign the parity drive correctly. You don't want to end up like this guy. Link to comment
