Mouse support over VNC and other related questions

Featured Replies

I now did the step and successfully installed Win8.1. Was quite surprised that this went rather easy.

I have a few questions though:

1) I am using VNC to access the VM. Unfortunately, I cannot use my mouse remotely through VNC. How can I enable this?

2) VNC is not full-screen. Possible?

I think I found the issue. I am accessing my VM over a notebook with touchscreen and noVNC defaults to touch-use. Any chance for a bug fix for the next release?

any thoughts on above? would love to use my mouse when accessing the VM through noVNC.

Try rdp, much better, but still not perfect.

Looking into this...  We are including a noVNC upgrade in the next release.

Fantastic, thanks so much!!!

You may also be able to edit the VM XML and delete this line:

<input type='tablet' bus='usb'/>

Let me know if that works...

I deleted it, but unfortunately this did not change anything. It is not too urgent, so I can wait for the next release if you are upgrading noVNC anyways.

6.1 rc3 has been released which contains the noVNC upgrade.  Let me know if that changes anything for you.

I also have problems with the mouse lag over VNC on 6.1-rc5

i have also removed this line

<input type='tablet' bus='usb'/>

but no changing in mouse behavior.

EDIT

Using TightVNC Viewer the mouse are OK.

We are also experimenting with SPICE and QXL, but its not going to be a short term item for implementation.  Some more work ahead of us on that just yet.

Unfortunately, this is still not working in 6.1.2.

Thanks for reporting.  The biggest challenge here is that I don't have a touchscreen laptop to test with.  That said, I will do some more research to see what we can do to fix.

For anyone looking for an answer to this--it does seem to be touch screen related.  I cannot use a mouse over VNC on either my surface or Chromebook(both touch screen), but I can on my T1700.  That's all using Chrome.

Firefox works on all devices though!

I have this problem with my Chromebook, therefore installing Firefox isn't really an option for me... Any ideas?

Many Chromebooks will run Firefox. It's worth checking to see if yours is one of them.

Yeah, I tried it with the Android App... It was a poor experience

I have come up with a workaround and it's a fairly smooth experience but not perfect. Would be no good for gaming etc but it works.

Set up Chrome Remote Desktop on the VM and then log in via that... Would also work from any device with Chrome etc
