Could someone please help an old newbie in setting up the above please .....

 

I already have used all my sata ports on the MB and I wish to at a later stage be able to attach more drives ....

 

Details:

 

MB: Gigabyte GA-970FXA-UD3, AMD990FX, S AM3+, DDR3, SATA III-6Gb/s, RAID SATA, PCIe2.0(x16), ATX

 

CPU: AMD FX-6300 Six-Core @ 3500, S AM3+

 

Mem: 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengence Jet Black Low Profile, PC3-12800 (16000), Non-EEC, CAS 9-9-9-24, AXP, 1.5V

 

Graphics Card: 1GB EVGA G 210, 1200MHz GDDR3, GPU 520MHz, Shader 1238MHz, 16 Cores, D-Sub/ Dual Link DVI-I/ HDMI

 

A syslog is attached ....

What problem are you having exactly with setting it up?

You should just be able to plug one of those cards in and they start working with no special action required.  I have 2 of them in my unRAID server and no special action was required.

 

What problem are you seeing?  Have you go the correct type of SAS->SATA cables for the card as if you get the wrong type no drives will be recognised.

Thanks for quick reply ......... but I think I've got it sorted ......

 

Must check ALL connections are secure .... I'll go and stand in the corner with "D" hat on ....... and repeat 1000 times

each day for a month "I Must Check All Connections" ........
