I already have used all my sata ports on the MB and I wish to at a later stage be able to attach more drives .... August 3, 201510 yr Community Expert You should just be able to plug one of those cards in and they start working with no special action required. I have 2 of them in my unRAID server and no special action was required. What problem are you seeing? Have you go the correct type of SAS->SATA cables for the card as if you get the wrong type no drives will be recognised.

I'll go and stand in the corner with "D" hat on ....... and repeat 1000 times each day for a month "I Must Check All Connections" ........ again thanks Squid, will mark as 'Solved'
