Sever won't post

Featured Replies

I can't get my server to post. I have this error but have root access. Does anyone know what is going on?

Run the diagnostics command at the console and attach the resulting zip file to your post.

BTW, pretty sure you mean something else besides POST. That stands for Power On Self Test, and you wouldn't even get to the screenshot you took if the motherboard wouldn't post.

Could you describe what you mean?

mkdir: cannot create directory ‘/boot/logs’: Read-only file system

cp: cannot stat ‘/boot/config/*.cfg’: No such file or directory

cp: cannot stat ‘/boot/config/*.conf’: No such file or directory

cp: cannot stat ‘/boot/config/*.dat’: No such file or directory

cp: cannot stat ‘/boot/config/go’: No such file or directory

That almost certainly means that there is corruption on your USB stick.

The normal remedial action is to put it in a Windows PC and let chkdsk fix the problem (or the equivalent on a Mac).
