New user... Question....

So I've just got my hands on unRAID and I'm having some problems (maybe).

I started out with a 1.5tb Parity and a couple of smaller disks, the capacity showed as the combined total of the two smaller drives.  I've now added 4 more 1.5tb disks to the array and it appears to have come up correctly and parity is building BUT the capacity is showing as 1.5tb.  Bug maybe?  Have I done something wrong?

I'm running 4.5-beta6

TIA!

The capacity of your array will be the size of alll of the disks in the array except parity.  The parity disk space is totally used for parity protecting the array, and is not usable space to store files.

So if you have 5 1.5T drives, and 2 250G drives (just an example), your usable capacity would be 4 x 1.5T + 2 x 250G = 6.5T.

I am not sure what you are looking at that is showing an array capacity.  You'd have to be using unMenu or something else, because the default Web GUI does not show a total array size.

When I map a drive it reports the free space as 1.5tb....  Guess it doesn't actually report the correct amount, not a problem guess I just have to check the gui to see how much space is left.

Further to this OS-X now reports the user shares as being full. None of the disks are full and neither is the cache. Any idea how to make it work again?

EDIT : Seems to be bugged for OS-X 10.4  - http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=3774.0

annoying.
