Advice on shares setup and initial loading

Hi all, second post here. I could use some advise on loading the array for the first time and the use of the different types of shares. I've played a little with the different settings, but I am not sure what the 'best' way is.

My storage is around 2.2 Tb and is structured for now as follows on one 3Tb USB HDD:

- /Music/Genre/Album Artist/Album Title/files (Total 1.1Tb, 5 Genre folders of different sizes, 'Popular' being 600Gb)

- /Mediacards/Date/files (Total 90Gb)

- /Homevideos/Category/files (Total 250Gb)

- /DVTapes/Tape number/files (Total 690 Gb)

- /Photos/Year/Month/Event/files (Total 40Gb)

- /Movies/Category/Title/files (Total 300Gb)

- /Temp/files (varies, around 100Gb)

From a usage perspective, I need my family members to be able the access/change the Photos and Homevideos folders (and not the other folders). And I would my media player to access Mediacards, Homevideos, Photos and Movies. Pre-UnRaid I set up some Samba shares for it. I myself need access to everything from my workstation and be able to create some extra folders when needed.

My array has 3 x 1Tb data disks for now and one 1Tb parity disk. Ideally I would keep the various folders from above together but I realize that at least the Music folder has to be split. I think at the Genre level, so all albums from the same genre stay on one disk.

With this setup, what shares should I create for loading and access the array? Should I create the directory structure manually and create some user shares afterwards? Any advise on this approach is much appreciated!

Thanks, Ralph
