steve1977
I have a cache drive that I use to store my VM. I just added a second cache drive, but realized that this would not help me wth what I wanted to, so I have removed it again. For whatever reason, my first cache drive (with the VM on it) now shows as unmontable and requests formatting. I have NOT formatted it though. Any idea why the disk now is unmountable and how I can get the data back? Or ideally just mount it? Link to comment

steve1977
Format and restore from backup? No backup of the cache disk. You assume the data are lost? It would not be the end of the world as the data are not as precious on the disk. However, I am very curious why the disk is now unmountable and all data are gone? Why would the disk be impacted by adding and removing a 2nd cache drive? No formatting happened. Link to comment
JonathanM
Read through this post and the threads referenced. Your data is fine, but it's a little bit of command line work to get it back. Possibly email limetech and ask for assistance if you can't follow what occurred in those threads. Link to comment
steve1977
Thanks, I have replied to limetechnology in the post that you have linked to. I tried to do the same via commandline, but not successful (device cannot be found). Thanks! Link to comment
