jowe
I have a media share that spans over a number of disks. When i dont use cache on that share, i have no problems. But when cache is enabled, i loose permissions on folders, say i transfer s02e04. I loose perissions on 2 folders down. The folder with name of the tv show, then all seasons and the episodes. If i invoke the mover, it moves everything to the right place, but i still cant read the folder. I have to use "new permissions" under tools to reset everything to normal, (just on disk5). If i transfer anything to another folder under the same share, on another disk, i dont have this problem. Cache is 2 disk btrfs, that i have even changed disks on. And all other disks are formated with XFS. Cant see anythin in the logg either. Link to comment
RobJ
I'm not comfortable that I have enough info to really help, or even that I fully understand the problem, so this is just a general answer. Normally, the permissions for files are the 'fault' of the tool that dropped them where they are, so you may want to check what tool is putting them there, and how it's configured. Sounds like a misconfiguration. Link to comment
jowe
I understand that its a weird problem, maybe its better to start over with a fresh install. As long as i put the disks in the same order as they are now, i dont loose any data, right? Anyway, been testing some more. When i create a folder on media share, i can enter that folder on the share, but if i connecs to \\tower\cache I cant enter the new folder structure. And when i run the mover, i cant enter the full folder on the share either. I loose like 3 levels down in share. But i´ve had this problem for a while, and when i testet before i lost permissions immediately on the share. The "tool" is a Windows 2012 R2 server, using SMB share. I can always browse folders in webgui or using mc. edit: i went RFS to XFS a while ago, just moved the date to a new formated drive with putty and mc. Link to comment
