Thanks, but how do I remove the Nvidia integration with Plex first? I assume I have to do that before shutting down my server and removing my P2000?

Just the opposite of the instructions to implement it.  That is, remove "--runtime=nvidia" from Extra Parameters and blank the "Nvidia Visible Devices" field in the docker template.

You could then uninstall the Nvidia Driver plugin (not sure whether required, but if you're removing the card you might as well).

For anyone here experiencing the "transcoder process has crashed" issue between the Plex app on Roku and the current version of Plex Media Server, I was struggling with figuring out how to rollback PMS to an earlier version to work around this, and I figured I’d post my solution here in hopes that I can help someone else with this issue:

In the “Repository” field on the “Edit Container” page, you can just add onto the URL to specify a version listed on https://hub.docker.com/r/linuxserver/plex/tags.

For example, in the “Repository” field, instead of just “lscr.io/linuxserver/plex”, I have “lscr.io/linuxserver/plex:1.24.5.5173-8dcc73a59-ls85” so that the container specifically uses the docker image for Plex Media Server 1.24.5.5173.

This has resolved the “transcoder crashed” issue for now until either the Roku app or Plex Media Server (or both) hopefully get updated soon to resolve this.

Edit: grammar correction

I'll add to the above post.

Around Thanksgiving, I was having issues with streaming live TV.  Would stream for about 8 minutes, then get a 'The Program Has Ended...' message (or something similar to that) and the program would stop.

After a bit of Googling, found Plex had broken TV streaming in one of their updates, and was never resolved.  (Me wonders just how they do their regression testing).

Repository linuxserver/plex:1.24.4.5081-e362dc1ee-ls82 is the version most people were suggesting to roll back to.  Been sitting at this one, at least until football season is over.

Good morning,

I hope I have only a little problem.

I wanted to switch to the beta versions in my linuxserver.io Plex Docker.

I then switched to beta in the Docker app and added :plexpass to the repo in the settings.

Since then, the Docker has disappeared in the overview and it is also not listed with previous apps.

Appdata folder in the cache still exists.

Is there an easy solution to restore my Docker?

Greetings

EDIT: Solved!

Hi Guys,

I'm a little bit on the fence of where to post this.

So lately, my plex has been acting up. It seems nvidia transcoding is broken somehow... When I start a stream, direct play works fine. However, when i'm trying to transcode (on multiple devices), it some times fails, some times doesn't fail.

The error tells me there's permissions issues. But the weird thing is, if I turn off hardware transcoding, all is well.

things i've done:

 - remade the transcode folder, switched it to a folder on the cache, switched it onto the ram. no dice

 - spun up another plex container, no dice

 - spun up a jellyfin container, this works, but i think jellyfin handles the transcodes differently.

I'm at a loss, especially because it sometimes works, but most of the times it doesn't.

Any help would be really appreciated

I'm struggling to use a custom docker network to plex.  This is my first and only unraid+docker experience.

When I set the container network to HOST, all of the ports are listed in the allocations

When I set the container network to the default docker bridge (BR0), all of the ports are listed

Using the custom network results in no ports being listed under allocations

I created the custom network via the console:

docker network create docknet

The resulting network is a different subnet (172.17.0.0) vs the main network (192.168.0.0).

I've tried setting `Host access to custom networks` without effect.

It seems like I should be able to go into a file and setup my custom network, but I cannot directly modify the port allocations in the unraid gui.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I recently had to spin up my backup server and also changed hardware.

Ever since getting Plex up and running, I've had issues with various people who never had issues before on my previous server.

These issues include, buffering for certain shows, errors such as 'Multimedia format not supported'

Today I noticed I am getting this error in my Plex Linuxserver.io logs:

Jobs: Exec of /config/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Codecs/EasyAudioEncoder-1699-linux-x86_64/EasyAudioEncoder/EasyAudioEncoder failed. (13)

I see this error a lot in my plex logs is this a permissions issue?

[Transcoder] [eac3_eae @ 0x150064a90240] EAE timeout! EAE not running, or wrong folder? Could not read '/tmp/pms-4cbfb3e7-66d4-45a8-8cbc-ac5afe203d58/EasyAudioEncoder/Convert to WAV (to 8ch or less)/ef3749eb-fffe-4b0e-b6ee-743259d1bb48_1398-0-1103.wav'

Any help would be appreciated.

I resolved the issue by stopping Plex, deleting the contents of my Codecs folder and restarting Plex, forcing it to download new Codecs.

HI,

Running current version of unraid, and the default version of LINUXSERVER.IO - PLEX MEDIA SERVER.  Started getting the following errors in log. I have highlighted what I suspect is the problem. I have no docker paths exposing /usr/....

Thoughts ?

Having tremendous issue with Plex tonight, out of the blue.

Users dropping connection, restarted the docker, they were fine for 5 min then dropped again.

I rolled back to a previous version of Plex, same thing.
I optimized my Plex database, same issue happened.

I am now running the latest version of Plex and when a user connects to my server the dashboard says nothing is playing.

Still having serious issues, yesterday two users playing the same media file caused my CPU to spike to 98% and sit there. When I killed their sessions the CPU went back to normal, when they recconnected to play the same file again, the same thing happened, my CPU spiked to 98%. Other users were connected to Plex at the time and able to play media.

Just now I tried to access the Plex web gui on my server and it's unresponsive, I will have to stop and restart the docker so I can get in.

I'm having trouble getting DLNA to work.
The network is set to HOST (as it is by default)
I've enabled DLNA in the plex settings.
I've enabled both of the advanced network options for unauthorized access and lan for 192.168.1.0/24 (my subnet/mask for the local network)
I don't see the plex media server listed in Windows 10 Explorer, Windows Media player or any other DLNA enabled stuff.

Any suggestions?

did u find a fix? i am also not able to see dlna. when i boot up  a raspberry pi with kodi i can see that devices dlna just fine but rather use plex.

Hi there,

I have been having trouble with Plex detecting new files and sometimes gets stuck in a scan and it just keeps spinning. I noticed the attached errors in the logs.

I have tried checking the integrity of the database and it came back ok. I also tried deleting the contents of the codecs folder but no luck.

Not sure what could be causing all this so would appreciate any guidance.

I added some new files on my server and when I went to scan for them in Plex, my library scans were just instantly stopping with nothing new added. I saw a bunch of these same errors in my logs. Seemed like it lost track of the mounts for some reason maybe and so it couldn't find the folder/files. I restarted the container and seems to be working again finding new files, but I'm also occasionally see that error pop up again as well. Very strange and hope something didn't break in the latest update.

Do you still get those errors and has your Plex been continuing to work ok even with them?

Are these mounts shares on the array or are they via Unassigned Devices?

All my libraries are pointing to shares on the array and the metadata is in my appdata which is on the cache pool, nothing is using UD for Plex that I can think of.

I noticed what I replied to was from back in January too, so might not have to do with the latest update and I'm only just running in to it now for different reasons.

Hi - I'm having a permissions issue with Plex and the /Media folders highlighted below.

Chmod to 755 and 777 does not seem to solve for me. How can I solve this? Both folders worked fine for 1 year+. When navigating to these folders in Krusader show most files missing and Plex has lost these video files also. Are these files gone for good? Or hidden due to the permissions issue?

Thanks!

Thanks. I used New Permissions which seemed to fix the ownership, and then did a chmod 777 which fixed the issue.

Re the missing movies, I can now see the folder contents in Krusader. There are a couple of very recent items, but the majority of the media files are gone. Searching for them comes up blank too. Strange.
