I currently use that. How can I have it sync back to plex my watch/unwatched if I start a new Plex docker?

Also, is there a way to keep my library how it was? Like the recently added movies and tv shows?

I just started using it myself, but I know thats what the folk over in r/plex suggest for this type of situation.

I would check in with them for a better answer.

It's a setting in the trakt channel in the Plex app. You can sync up and/or down. You'll need to have the app running for syncing up though.

So just set up the new docker and set the trakt settings to up so it can sync back down my watched/unwatched status down to plex?

Since the new update, I keep getting this every time I try to open plex web.  Even though I had already set it up over again one time.  Also, I can't access the server tab in devices. Says "unavailable"

EDIT: Looks like going "back" on my browser takes me back to my server.  Still annoying, why's this happening?

hey lads,

Has anyone had some random TV shows refuse to play on plex (infinate load) as of recent?

I'm not sure what would cause this, the files play if I download them off plex or play the raw file..

It seems to be random on what episodes will and wont play, I've had two in the last week... never had this before that.

Any idea's? is there another log the error might be in?

You can check the plex server log

I wish!

It writes nothing to the log about the playback/error

http://prntscr.com/gnd3xy

Maybe because it never actually errors it just continually loads forever http://prntscr.com/gnd4lm

As I said, its a very select few episodes.. not a huge problem but I hope it doesn't get worse. I also tested the same episode on the android plex app and on my desktop

Does it attempt to play, with maybe the spinning thing?

I've had it be randomly slow (discussed issues a few pages back) it seems mostly better, but still some episodes take a good 10/15 seconds to actually start.

Doesn't seem to attempt to play, I left it for 2 hours just as a test, and it just had the loading symbol for the whole time.

I attempted to optimize the file overnight, that also failed... its weird!

That's the docker log. The plex server log is in the config folder

Seems to be a transcoder error, any idea's

I found some possible solutions, I set max watches in sysctl to 100000, however no change.

Another possible solution I found was to mount the /transcode folder to /tmp, but as far as I can tell, there is no /transcode in the docker config

edit: I found this http://prntscr.com/gnozw0 in the plex settings, however the episode im testing with still wont play

That seems like the plex transcoder is having issues with those files. You should ask on the plex forums. They'll probably ask for the logs and maybe a sample file.

I would, but the docker section on the forum boards are greyed out for me... not sure why I havnt logged into the forums before today.

EDIT: Found a random forum post saying to rename the codec directory and restart the docker. This seems to have fixed the issue for me.

Does anyone know where the time shifting is stored?  I have the docker installed on my ssd and i want to map the time shift to a unassigned device as to not wear out my ssd.

Are you talking about plex's DVR and where it records to? It'll record to whatever library you tell that specific program to.

Example: If I want to record a "Show X" I tell Plex to save it to the "TV Show" library and then when it records, it'll save a temp file to a ".grab" folder inside the "TV Show" folder under "/mnt/user/PlexMedia/TV \Show/.grab"

Since "/TV Shows" are mapped to "/mnt/user/PlexMedia/TV \Shows"
