Hoopster
3 minutes ago, xman111 said: It is installed but I wasn't sure what I should pick for the containers, etc. It just keeps saying looking for servers. If you downloaded the Linuxserver.io Plex docker you downloaded the Plex Media Server. When you launch the WebUI, it should find the Plex Media Server running on your unRAID server. The Server it finds will be the name of your unRAID server. Before determining if you have your containers mapped properly, a server has to be found. The Plex docker shows as running (green play arrow on the icon) in the Docker tab, correct? What is the exact error you are seeing? Is it something like "You don't have any media servers yet. Download and install one", or, is it something else? Quote Link to comment

xman111
yes, i have plex pass. you know another weird thing is I have my main computer that i just booted up with a plus licence (i have a pro and plus licence). I did the exact same steps and plex works on this computer. I noticed the docker icon looks a little different, not sure if that is a hint or anything. see how this one just says plex but the non working one says container ID and by linuxserver? xman111
yes, but one version is a pro licence (non working) and the working one is a plus licence. Quote Link to comment
xman111
another thing i just noticed.. if i start up the working plex, i can go into the non-working one, log into the GUI and it instantly finds the other server and works (until i turn the working computer off). The non-working version just doesn't make it's own server, but like I said, sees the other server. Quote Link to comment
ijuarez
On your non-working Plex install have you deleted the Plex folder from appdata after you remove the cointainer and image?Something may be hanging Sent from my BND-L34 using Tapatalk Quote Link to comment
xman111
pretty sure, i used MC and deleted it. the non working system has an SSD cache disk which the working system doesn't. I will check again, where is the default plex appdata? \mnt\cache\appdata\plex i think.. Quote Link to comment

xman111
I just uninstalled, then deleted the plex diretory from /mnt/user/appdata/plex and /mnt/cache/appdata/plex. when i reinstall, it makes a directory /plex in BOTH those locations. Is it maybe a setting I have wrong with the cache drive? Quote Link to comment
trurl
Your screenshot of volume mappings also says that you haven't mapped any of your media, so even if you get it running it won't be able to access any of your files. Have you read the Docker FAQ? Quote Link to comment

xman111
here is my appdata settings.. not sure if this has anything to do with it. pretty much the only difference between the two systems is the cache drive, and of course the licence and some of the hardware Edited September 6, 2018 by xman111 Quote Link to comment

xman111
hey guys a little progress.. i was using an Intel server NIC in the machine. Pulled the NIC and turned on the Realtek one in the bios and Plex installed. Couple issues and questions. -can't find where to add the media mount to add all my movies.. i think it would be \mnt\user\media but don't know where to put it. -any reasons why the Intel card wouldn't work? I transferred over about 750 gb of data on it and the card is fine. maybe a setting somewhere? thanks for your help guys. Quote Link to comment

Xman - sorry I left you hanging. I have been out for the last few hours. Glad to see you have received help and made progress. For reference, here are some of my mappings in Plex: Then on the Plex side, to access movies for example, you would add a Library, specify the media type of Movies and then select the /movies folder as seen here: Quote Link to comment
