Try removing the plex docker & image then reinstall plex with 1.18.0.1913-e5cc93306-ls58 in version.

OK I'll have to do this tomorrow if I have to remove the image too.   A few settings I need to re-create and its late.  I'll drop a note tomorrow evening.

Thanks.

You have to use the full version number of plex, not the tag from docker hub. If you want to use the tag we create, then set the version to docker and add the tag you want to use after linuxserver/plex in the repository field. Remember to add a : between the repository and the tag.

Hi guys, im pretty new with unraid. So i installed the docker, and so on. Everythings worked fine, but then, when i go to the web UI, i can login with my plex account. After that, i get the message: Access denied! the server denies access. please make sure that you are logged in as a user with access rights to this server.

I'm not able to configure the server itself, nor to claim it.

I feel lost here, and could use a hand.

So does this mean the variable should be: (I think it used to just say "docker")

docker:e5cc93306-ls58

or

docker:1.18.0.1913-e5cc93306-ls58

or

something else?

Sorry if I'm asking what should be obvious, but admittedly not a "docker" expert here and continuing to learn more all the time.

You haven't read my post well enough. The version should be set to docker and nothing else.

The tag goes in the repository field behind linuxserver/plex. And the tag you use have to be the full tag on docker hub.

Got it.  Thanks, worked fine and DVR functional again!

I'm having trouble getting the Plex to be found outside of the network.

I'm using "Network Type" Custom: br0

I've assigned Plex it's own IP address in the Secure LAN of my network.

I can only watch TV/Movies when connected direclty to that network.

Should I not have used "Custom: br0" ?

I can't find any explanation of why you would use the differnet "Network Types". Most posts focus on the shares which I have working properly.

Have you forwarded port 32400 to the applicable IP in the router?

So I added a rule to ALLOW TCP to DESTINATION address 192.168.10.3 (my Plex server on unRAID) and port: 32400.

Am I setting this up wrong? What IP do I need to open the port for? The Roku's or the Plex server's?  Or my unRAID's server? And is it a "DESTINATION" or a "SOURCE"?

Thanks Squid. So I've posted this question in several forums. Redit, Ubiquiti, etc. And People keep posting that link. However, what I'd like to do is connect the Plex server running on VLAN10 (192.168.10.3) to the Roku on the IoT network VLAN30 (192.168.30.13).   I want to directly connect the two. I don't want to send the movie to Plex's server, then have it come back to my Roku that's sitting right next to the server.

I imagine this is quite common where someone would configure their network to have their IoT devices (Roku, Shield, Vero 4K+) on a VALN secured from their management network. And I've seen this question asked on the Ubiquiti forums about a dozen times but they don't come up with a solution. I was able to pass all my DNS traffic through my VLAN for Pi-Hole with the firewall rule that I posted above. I'm hoping that it's a similar solution but I want to make sure I have both unRAID and Plex server configured properly so I can rule them out as the issue.

Does this make sense?

Update:  I unexpectedly figured it out. This time with much less whining on the forums as usual 😃

It was GDM Network Discovery!! I had to open a destination port range to my Plex server's IP address. Ports 32410 to 32414.

I didn't have to list anything in the Source tab. My current rule blocks all traffic between VLANs but already allows traffic FROM VLAN10 to anywhere.

There aren't much you can do, but if you are not using /mnt/disk for appdata you can start by changing that.

Apart from that, you have to wait until LimeTech fixes the issue or invest in a cache drive.

I too am getting the "Starting Plex Media Server." spam.

And i don't quite understand what why this is happening now. It's been quite some time since i updated unraid, and i have never had any issues in the last few years. I have a 3TB drive and a 120GB SSD for docker appdata.

Appdata is located on the ssd: /mnt/disk1/docker/appdata/plex

Is my library fucked?

Thanks in advance!

Probably. No backup of the appdata?

Check the Plex server log in the config folder to see why Plex is crashing. If it's corrupt database, restore from backup. Plex takes database backups automatically every 3 days

Has anyone else had issues with Intel Quicksync hardware transcoding running the 6.8 rc series?
Streams have stopped working for my users and if they start at all, they are extremely blocky and unwatchable.

Hi,

I just installed this docker as I had issues with the other plex one.

Had to restart the docker, now I'm getting this in the logs and no webGUI.

My guess is your appdata is on /mnt/user?

Change it to /mnt/cache or /mnt/diskX if you don't have a cache disk.

If that doesn't work, your database is corrupt.

Help setting up dual network in Plex docker?

I have managed to setup the ethernet like this:

And this:

image.thumb.png.fb61702354496e2edfc92884cf708a05.png

But how to add this to Plex in Docker (Sofar I have been unsuccessful)

I use "host" which just uses the first lan group, changing it to "Custom: br0" doesn't seem to work

Do I have to add it manually?

As always your input and help is much appreciated

Reason to do this: I want to setup different gateways to different internet connections

And I think I saw Plex being able to have multiple network connection in the ui

Any input on how to add all networks to Plex (Multiple access?)

I think I had this when it was running on my Syn NAS....

I'm using the linuxserver Plex docker with unraid. I am trying to access the webui (click on the docker and launch the local webui) but I can't get it to work. I try using this link: http://<ip-address>:34200/library/sections?X-Plex-Token=XXXXXXXX (with my server ip address and token) to get to my content but it's not working either. Any suggestions? I can access my plex content through the Plex web sites's launcher without any issue.
