Install Plugins Manually Offline

Featured Replies

Testing unraid behind proxy and need to install a couple of plugins.  Is this possible to do manually, as if I were offline?  Whenever I download the PLG file, it still tries to download additional files from github

Not that I am aware of. I suppose you could use another computer to download the required files manually from github and then move them into the correct locations that the plugin requires. You would most likely have to look at the plugin code and to put the files in the correct locations.

That sounds like an interesting challenge

If the plugin doesn't provide anything to a screen and only uses packages (.tgz,.tgx? files for instance NOT the .plg files) then you could put them in the extra folder.  That is how I have done some of the nerd pack pieces (screen, bwm-ng, etc...).

For reference, this user's only posts were for a similar request. Seems like your on your own.

Actually it worked great.  Remoted into my unraid server at my house, and installed the plugin.  Then copied the folder to the flash here. And went through the normal install procedure.  Because the files already existed, it skipped the download and installed fine. Thanks very much

More followup.  My success was with the unassigned devices plugin.  I tried doing the same thing with The pre-clear plugin and it hung trying to download a "version check" file.  So I went into the plg file with notepad ++ and removed the reference to that download and everything worked perfectly.
