Dashboard HDD Hot alarm

Featured Replies

New system with new low noise fans.

I have all the Fan's and plugs put in correctly, but I am getting a Temp alarm in the dashboard for the HDD's do I need to worry..

I have never heard the fans kick into extra RPMs, not sure if that is in the bios ? SuperMicro MB ?

You didn't provide much in the way of details. What is the temp? How are you controlling your fans? With my Supermicro mobo I have to manually adjust fan speed via IPMI, but I'm sure hardware controllers should work if that's what you have installed.

The thresholds for the temperature alarms can be adjusted in Display Settings (not exactly obvious place for them). There are 2 of them. The thing to keep in mind is you will only get an alert when it crosses a threshold, so once you get one you won't get another even if it keeps climbing. The default setting of 45c is safe but higher than should be typical if you have your cooling worked out.
