Wifi dropping from Android phone

Featured Replies

I have a HP Microserver that was connect to a TP Link router which i have just upgraded to a Asus RT-AD68U AC1900.

The issue is is transfer large files from my Oneplus One phone to the server and it keeps dropping the connection, it stops the transfer for a few seconds and then might restart and sometimes after a 5 to 10 sec it fails. The speed is all over he place. I thought it was the router so I thought it was time to upgrade but I still have this issue. I have only had this issue for a few months and tried everything to solve it. At one point I was getting a good solid speed now when trying to transfer a 4gb file it might get to 15% and fail.

Im running Unraid 5.0.5

I was hoping that it was the router that was the issue but its not.

Any ideas what could be causing this.

Do you get reasonable transfer speeds to unRAID with wired ethernet?

No issues when using wired, get 8 to 10 mbs.

I thought it was a wifi issue that's why i splashed on a new router.

To be honest I haven't really tried moving large files on other devices. I'll get out my laptop and give it a go and see if it works ok.

That's still pretty slow unless you don't have gigablt ethernet. That is more typical of 100MB speeds.

The laptop is about 7 years old so guess it doesn't have gigabit

I tried the laptop downloading with no issues. So I flashed a new ROM on my phone and was going great at about 6mbs when at about 20% it stopped.

Aghhhhhhhhh. This is driving me nuts.
