August 21, 200916 yr I have a strange problem. I have just built a unRAID server using the demo software. Iam now trying to copy my data from my windows 2000 Server to the unRAID box, there is about 4Tb to copy so I wanted to use a system that would queue the transfers. So as I have used it before I decided to try Teracopy. So I selected the folders to transfer and pasted them into teracopy and started the copy. When it finished I noticed that it seemed to have not copied some of the folders I had selected from my windows server drive. So I tried again and noticed something odd, with similar named folders only one would enter into teracopy. For example: movies/11 14/vobs etc movies/11_14/11_14_720p.avi It would only paste one of the folders into teracopy for transfer. If I selected the folder it had missed and entered that one only to the queue, no problem. But with thousands of folders to copy this seems a little problematic. So I tried the same in filexilla and noticed the same thing happened there, when I pasted some of the folders I had selected where not transfered. Can anyone cast some light upon what is going on. Also as I know have some doubt as to whether the files that have been transfered are in fact correct can anyone recommend a piece of software that can compare the Windows Drive to the unRAID drive prior to deleting the Windows drives so I can fit them into unRAID. (This would only happen some time down the line when Iam happy everything is working well with unRAID.) Thanks Ridley

August 22, 200916 yr Yes but the same thing happened in filezilla. And they were both running on .... [shadow=red, left]windows [/shadow]... possibly using the same support libraries, with you guessed it... possibly the same bugs. Joe L.

I use Total Commander in Windows (http://www.ghisler.com/), the Synchronize directories function, with the Subdirs and by content boxes checked. Just click the Compare button, and after it completes the file comparisons, you will be able to see what is missing and what is different. You can then exit, or click the Synchronize button. This does a complete bit for bit comparison of entire trees. I'm sure there are other tools also.
