can not mount unraid os x

Featured Replies

I recently had to format and reinstall everything on my mac pro and now i can not mount my unraid tower. i can access the gui from firefox, but it will not show up in my network as a server found. i have searched and searched for an answer but i am unable to come up with anything. i have attached the syslog with the hopes that someone smarter than me can tell me what i may be doing wrong. i will admit that i know little about how the unraid os functions so any help would be appreciated. everything was working fine before my reinstall.

thanks

Go to the Go Menu when you are using Finder.  From there try and use the Network search, if that fails use the "Connect to Server" option and type in smb://ipaddressoftower/sharename

Also take a look at the Topical Index and the Best of the Forums as they may have some links around here that can help.  do a search for rsync mac and that shold bring up some stuff that I have created to help with this problem.  Finder seems a little temperamental on whether it wants to discover the tower or not, I got tired enough not to mess with it anymore.

I would also doublecheck the network settings on your Mac, and the workgroup name.  The syslog looks OK, no indication of anything related to be wrong.

One very minor issue, the old IDE drive with ID of hda (MDT MD2500JB-00GVA0 with serial # MCAL71981294) appears to be using an old 40 wire cable, should be using an 80 wire flat ribbon cable.  It is running very slow now, and producing errors.  You don't appear to be using hda, so it is not slowing your array.

thanks for all the help guys. i ended up logging in using the "go to server" option and now it seems to be working fine. i am not using the hda drive because it kept giving me errors. it was only used as the cache drive and i am in the process of eliminating all ide drives anyways with the intent of upgrading to the Norco 4220 case soon.
