I'm at a total loss now, I've tried everything in the forums, tried changing my workgroup, switching between public/private networks, 'AllowingInsecure' reg edits, logging in with a password instead of a pin... etc

everything else in the home can see it but this machine, it can see the webgui, why cant it see the damn computer in thh network.....

Arghh, any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

What is the network type as set in Win10?

Try typing

advanced sharing

into the Win10 search bar then click on Manage Advance Sharing and have a poke around in there, I might be wrong but I think I had a similar issue and it was because Win10 thought it was on a public network not private...

As always I may be completely off the mark..  ::)

EDIT: Sorry just reread your post, ignore me I need some sleep..

Sorry...

EDIT2: Have you tried turning network discovery on, that may have been my problem?

I had a similar problem where my Ubuntu vm couldn't access the unraid ip, specifically a docker I had running bound to the unraid ip. Long story short it was a routing problem on the bridge I setup for the vm network which is on the same subnet. Not sure how you have your interfaces setup but I had to manual add a route. Was banging my head around for a while... I suggest to check your routes.

Is the OP running Win10 in a VM?

This is a problem that plagues many Windows users. Typically you cannot find the Unraid server in Windows Explorer.

There are two things to try.

First go to Control panel, select network and then Change Adapter Settings. Select

Properties from the Status Settings popup.

Make sure every item except 2,

Microsoft Network Adapter Multplexor Protocol and

Microsoft LLDP protocol driver are checked. Then click OK

Then go to Start, Administrative Tools, Services. Starting at the top turn on to Automatic Startup every service related to networking especially the ones starting with Network.

This worked for me

You can also try to start the network recognizing Unraid by mapping to an Unraid share. You cannot browse for the Unraid server. You have to manually enter the info.

Select an unused letter entering as an example  \\tower\movies then select Reconnect at sign in and click finish

Reboot your Windows machine after completing each step and check the Network in Windows Explorer

I've got to ask, how in the earth did you figure this one out.  I'm impressed...

From a Noobie up in years that tries hard and got lucky.

I had the same problem twice. I would get a new Windows machine or update Windows and suddenly network connections would not appear in Windows Explorer (File Explorer).

When I got my Unraid machine which is the best investment I have made in my network yet and I could not find it on the network I was panicked. Not being a systems engineer or knowing much more about networking than what an IP address is I spent hours testing and hit on those three items.

Why Windows would not turn everything on to start with is the unknown. Seems like they do these things all the time.

I have 2 Windows Home Servers that are great for backups and system image restores. But Windows designed the system to only work with 32bit Vista ethernet drivers. So now they are unusable. Go Figure.

As a Noobie Unraid user it sure would be an asset if Limetech to have step by step setups for Dockers and VMs.

And Backups. Must be a problem when there are 25,000 views of CrashaPlan docker and you have to rewrite the code for every installation.

Sorry for the rant

We have a Docker Crashplan container in development that is going to be on our official repo.  I also need to document guides on the setups for those containers.  I'll be jumping out of R&D and into documentation / video mode again very soon here.
