Can't Stop Server

Featured Replies

On my current Unraid build, I've run both 4.4.2 and the 4.5 beta 6.  I'm having the same problem with both where when I click "Stop" on the web interface so that I can power down or reboot the server, I get a progress bar on the bottom with the message "Waiting for http://tower/update....."

But it never stops and I always have to manually hold down the power button on the server in order to shut it down.  Would like to get a Syslog out of it, but because it appears to be "stopping" it won't give me access to the flash drive to get the Syslog.

Any thoughts?

thanks

You should be able to access both the syslog and the flash drive at any time, whether it is stopped or not.  What else do you have installed or have customized, that may be hindering it from unmounting the drives?

Did you have telnet open? I notice that when my telnet is open and I can't stop it. It's showing unmounting.... on my tower/main page. I have close telnet in order to stop it.

thanks,

Before pressing "Stop" Telnet to the server, log in, then type

tail -f /var/log/syslog

Then, Press "Stop" on the management console.  The system log will show the progress as the array is stopping.

Once it "hangs" again, we might get a clue from the text shown on the telnet screen.  Worst case, take a picture of it, and post the image, if it does not look apparent.
