luca2
Hi, I grabbed some old disks for my array (even IDE ones) and had this preclear results. I would appreciated if anyone lets me know if I can use them or not. disk1: ================================================================== 1.15 = unRAID server Pre-Clear disk /dev/sdb = cycle 1 of 1, partition start on sector 64 = Disk Pre-Clear-Read completed DONE = Step 1 of 10 - Copying zeros to first 2048k bytes DONE = Step 2 of 10 - Copying zeros to remainder of disk to clear it DONE = Step 3 of 10 - Disk is now cleared from MBR onward. itimpi
Disk1 looks very sick and should not be used. You cannot safely use any disk where the value for pending sectors does not go to 0 during a pre-clear. Disk2 has a significant number of reallocated sectors but the number appears stable. It should be safe to use but should be watched to ensure it does not start degrading. Disk3 looks fine. Link to comment
