How do I permanently remove a drive in UnRaid v6?

Featured Replies

I have a 1TB drive that I would like to permanently remove from my array. There is nothing on it (I merely formatted it as an XFS drive in UnRaid). Is there a simple way to do this in UnRaid 6 - without replacing the drive?

Tools - New Config. You will have to reassign all your drives except for the one you don't want and rebuild parity. Make sure you assign the correct drive to the parity slot.

Bummer! I was afraid of that ... thanks. In the future do you know of a simple way to format a drive as XFS without adding it to the array?

Never tried to see if you can use the Unassigned Devices plugin to format a drive, but if you can't, you can assign the drive as the cache drive, format it xfs, then reassign your cache drive...
