Red X on drive

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Noticed some performance issues reading from the array and checking the unraid dashboard confirmed one of the drives has a red X and is disabled.  I've powered down and had a push on SATA cables and still getting the same results.  I have attached a diagnostic.  Any help appreciated.

Cheers

The performance issues are due to the fact that unRAID is no longer using the disk, but is instead emulating it by calculating its data from parity and all the other drives. Also, note that when you have a drive disabled, you aren't protected anymore since parity only allows a single drive failure.

You will have to rebuild it. See wiki
