Active streams shows a movie playing from my laptop IP, but I'm not doing it

Featured Replies

I've been seeing this for a long time now, but it's time to figure out what's going on.  As I've said active streams is showing a moving playing on the IP of my laptop, but I'm not actually playing anything.  I use JRiver Media Center for all my media playback, but it doesn't show anything playing when active streams does.  However, if I close JRMC, the active stream goes away, so I'm confused as to what's really going on.

I'm not sure what active streams is actually reporting on, so maybe it's not really a movie playing in secret, but it sure seems like it.

Ideas on how to figure out what's going on?

I posted on the JRiver forums about this also, but wanted to go at it from both sides.  I posted some screenshots in that post.

my guess is your media player is still keeping the file open even tho you are not viewing it at the moment with the conclusion that you say it goes away when you close the program.....

That's my guess also.  I mainly posted here to see if this was done wierd behavior seen previously by others.

It looks like JRMC is analyzing the audio of the files in the background, but not reporting that activity in the process logging.
