This is the only mention of any segfault in the logs.: I have this same issue. Seems if I turn of "Log Deleted Files" it doesn't happen. Still, my recycle bin isn't working either and shows '?' for size. No shares listed or logs. Running Unraid 7.0.1 and version recycle.bin-2025.03.06.tgz

The coding has been moved to Limetech's repository https://github.com/unraid/recycle.bin and future updates are being published from there. Additionally, the same relocation of repositories also happened with UD, UD+, Preclear, Tips & Tweaks and cache dirs. The set of updates on 2025.02.14 handled this relocation (UD, UD+, Preclear were handled in December) so that the users would not be affected or need to perform any actions in order to continue to receive updates.
March 12, 20251 yr sniff stop working at the time I needeed it... Is there any hope to recover the missing files ?

The next release (either today or tomorrow) should fix the crashes of inotify and the log size issue etc. These problems should actually have nothing to do with the plugin working or not. What you'd want to do is go to Shares, then browse the files within the share. There should be a ".recycle_bin" folder which will contain your files. Depending upon your settings in recycle bin and global share settings you might have to do this from the WebGUI, as the share might not display over the network as it is a hidden folder
March 13, 20251 yr So we don't need to uninstall the current plugin? It'll receive an update to resolve this?
March 14, 20251 yr Thanks for the outstanding plugin. Looking forward to the bug fix and appreciate all the time you have invested in developing this must have plugin and time you spend on maintaining it. I realize in your life you have many other commitments outside of Unraid but I truly do appreciate your plugin and efforts. Please take care and many thanks.... Cheers from Nova Scotia...
March 15, 20251 yr Recycle bin works but it doesn't seem to log anything or see whats in the .Recycle Bin folder for me, maybe this is bugged now? Edit: To shed some light on my issue, i noticed today that my unraid was sending errors whenever i was accessing data over SMB such as "smbd_calculate_access_mask_fsp" . ended up looking and around and found that the recycle bin wasn't working properly, i uninstalled recycle bin, installed a version from my last backup which was a few version ago, then i verified that the recycle bin was working by deleting some dummy files and looking into .recycle bin in the share, once this worked i upgraded the plugin to the most recent version, tested deleting a dummy file again to verify it works, and now it seems to work, now when i go to the interface in the recycle bin i can also see the data in the recycle bin folders so it appears all is functional after this finnicky process and the smb error "smbd_calculate_access_mask_fsp" went away as well. March 16, 20251 yr Hi, the Recycle Bin plugin is not working properly. It didn't log which files were deleted. I test out by deleting one test file, and moving to the .Recycle.Bin folder. However, it doesn't log or see which files were deleted. This plugin still works, but when I check the syslog, it shows an error saying "segfault at 0 ip." I haven't received another plugin update for the bug fixes. Do you know when they will release the fixed version? I don't want to uninstall and reinstall the plugin again. Update 3/16/25 1:05 am: I tried disabling log deleted files, and no error was shown in the syslog. When I enable it back, the show error syslog shows. Edited March 16, 20251 yr by Phamie

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall it, the uninstall only removes the PLG file from the plugin folder on your usb drive and removes the hooks, it doesn't actually touch any files in your .Recycle Bin folders so you don't have to worry about that. I did this and it resolved my issues with the plugin, once reinstalled it could see the files that had previously been deleted etc.

The deleted log files now finally worked. Thanks for helping me!

March 16, 20251 yr Thanks for fixing this! Things seem to be working correctly again. However I'm trying to use the parameters and permissions feature and it doesn't seem to work. Files moved to the recycle bin just keep the same permissions and don't have the specified folder structure... Am I doing something wrong? I never used these features before so I'm not sure if they were working... Edited March 16, 20251 yr by Gex2501 extra info
March 17, 20251 yr Installed the recent update and it is working as designed. Many thanks for your time and efforts, they are much appreciated. A big cheer from Nova Scotia, Canada.

March 31, 20251 yr Just in case any doesn't know, after I installed the plugin, the ".Recycle.Bin" folder didn't appear automatically. After digging a lot, I found steps below: 1. Go to Settings -> SMB Settings 2. In the middle, SMB Extras append "recycle" to "vfs objects" 3. Restart the Recycle Bin plugin 4. Done
April 4, 20251 yr I just installed the plugin today and like others have reported, I'm not seeing files show up in the .Recycle.Bin folder in my share. I've started the plugin, ensured Recycle Bin is enabled, I can see the .Recycle.Bin folder in the root of my share, but any file I delete never ends up there. I also tried installing and reinstalling, but that didn't fix it either. EDIT: It seems the issue was because I had never closed out of my share in Windows File Explorer. I closed File Explorer, reopened my share, and then tried deleting a file. After that, my deleted file displayed in the .Recycle.Bin folder. Edited April 4, 20251 yr by ElectrikCirkuit
April 5, 20251 yr Is this plugin deprecated? I am asking because it is archived on Github: https://github.com/dlandon/recycle.bin
April 5, 20251 yr No, it's been transferred to the unraid org. https://github.com/unraid/recycle.bin Edited April 5, 20251 yr by Kilrah
April 23, 20251 yr New user of this plugin, still running 6.12.8. Installed yesterday and configured this morning. Doesn't appear to be working as best as I can tell. I do see a created .Recycle Bin folder, but it's not populating with anything I delete. Just wanting to confirm if it was just me? I see there were some reported issues last month, but it looks like it might have been resolved, and it's been quiet ever since. EDIT: Looks like a stop start of the array may have given it the necessary jolt to start working. Will continue to monitor. Edited April 23, 20251 yr by GotDaFunk
May 16, 20251 yr I just installed the Recycle Bin plugin by dlandon and the .Recycle-Bin folders are created but no files are being added there after delete. I've even stopped and started the main array which made no difference. Any ideas what's happening? This is a super useful feature. I'm running Unraid 7.1.2 currently and my array is xfs while my cache pool is zfs.

May 19, 20251 yr Hello, I would like to move a folder from the Recycle Bin back to its original location. Which method would you recommend, option 1 or 2? 1. Move it via SMB Move the folder from: \\111.111.50.250\SMB Share\.Recycle.Bin to: \\111.111.50.250\SMB Share\ 2. Move it via the Unraid system Move the folder from: /mnt/disk11/.Recycle.Bin to: /mnt/disk11/
