September 11, 201510 yr Hello, I have zero idea how to write a plugin or what would be entailed doing so... but I think the following would be a good idea. To have a plugin where when drives are overheating, after a user defined period of time, if drive does not return to "normal" temperature, some type of shutdown procedure begins. Perhaps drive temperature thresholds can be set for individual drives. Perhaps the shutdown procedure is something that can be done to reduce the workload on drive. If the drive is heating because of a parity check causes action A. If drive is heating because its sitting idle, it causes action B If drive is being written to for a while, it causes action C etc. The different actions can be forcing spin down, stop array for a given interval, shutdown, etc. I obviously don't know how much can be accomplished based on all the possible scenarios... I leave that to the experts.... but I hate when I am away and I get the hot messages on my Pushover. Thoughts please? Thanks. H.
September 11, 201510 yr We discussed this in pretty good depth in this thread recently. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=40791.msg386067#msg386067
