Weird File Permission Error

Featured Replies

Okay I recently upgraded to 6.0 from 5 and I am having a very weird problem. In short, if I download a file using Deluge in a Docker container to the server, I can move it around and interact with it from the unraid command line over ssh from my laptop. If I connect to a share from my laptop and drop a file in it, I can see the file from my laptop and interact with it, but cannot see it or interact with it from the unraid console (logged in as root).

Here's what happens in a step by step process:

[*]I mount an AFP share called Video

[*]I drag a file from my desktop to the Video folder, it transfers

[*]From the Finder window I can open the file

[*]I SSH to the unRAID box and navigate to the Video folder

[*]I issue the ls command to view files and it isn't there

[*]If I mkdir and create a folder or move a file to the Video share from the unRAID console over SSH I can see it both Finder and console

This is driving me crazy. How is it possible that root can't see a file on the server? What is going on here? Same result happens if I use NFS, SMB, or AFP to transfer the file. Anything created on the server seems to work fine, anything added over the network not so much.

Does the share use the cache drive?

Are you browsing the share under /mnt/user/ ?

Yes the share uses a cache. I was actually in the user0 folder. I think I have things working now. Apparently it was a PICNIC problem. Problem In Chair, Not in Computer.
