IBM M1015 drive support

Featured Replies

I've got a couple of these cards, and am looking to move my 2TB drives to 5TB drives.  I want to double check that this card will support 5TB drives.

Anyone know?

thanks

I have two M1015 Cards, and it works with my 4TB units.

so i think it will work with 5TB too.

I have three M1015's and have some 8TB disks hanging off them. As above, I'd so presume 5TB would be ok.

I have 4 5TB Toshiba drives off of my M1015 and a SAS Expander.

Hooked up three 5TB drives and they are running along in preclear just fine

Thanks for confirmation on 8TB drives. What's the version of the firmware you are running, P11?

By any chance you tried any 10TB drives with it?

Those unreleased, non-existent 10TB drives?  Yes, they work just great.  ::)

Very old firmware. Without double checking- P7.

Getting these cards flashed was a nightmare for me (only have one mboard that will allow it) so I've been in no rush to keep updating them when they've been working (apparently) fine.

10TB drives - no. Only ones I'm aware of are the HGST models which need host drivers for SMR and so wouldn't work regardless. No idea if they're even out yet.
