September 1, 200916 yr The thread on Self Healing array stimulated some thought regarding user shares and a detected array issue. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4269.0 If the array is in a degraded state, can we have the usershare be smart enough to prevent new file allocation to the missing md drive? This might allow us to mv or rsync our data in the event of a failed drive without having to worry where the data goes. Just use up the free space on the remaining drives. In addition, do not use the virtualized drive (unless it is being rebuilt).
