October 25, 201510 yr Author If you check out "Vanilla" forums, they are pretty fantastic. When Plex moved their forums over to Vanilla I was very happy. So simple to use, Not sure if I like the narrow format of the plex forum, seems like a lot of wasted space, spreading things out too much. Also as much as there is a definite increase in loading with avatars off there is still something going on because if I click on say the v6 forum it still takes awhile for all messages to load. I will get 1 or 2 then wait 15-30 seconds before the rest will show. If I exit the go back t that forum it will load faster unless new messages have been posted in the mean time, then it will wait just before the new message. This happens more Mornings and Evenings when the forums seem to be the busiest. A month or so ago this was not an issue. I'm sure LT will eventually look into it, I think we have enough people saying the same thing. 15-30 seconds response time on a web browser feels like forever, right?
November 9, 201510 yr If there is a change, please make sure the new solution supports Tapatalk. I rarely visit the Plex forums any more now that they don't work with Tapatalk.

January 6, 201610 yr So for a while now, maybe a few weeks, the slow load speed seems to have been fixed. I don't know what has changed but I'm happy.
January 8, 201610 yr Author Cool. Time to turn on Avatars! EDIT: Yea! Response time on pages seem normal after avatars back on. Cool!
April 25, 201610 yr Still extremely slow for me recently. I turned off avatars, and it helped a bit, but still more than 15 seconds to display a page. I would definitely be looking at database optimization or a new server. This one is obviously not up to supporting the current load of users EDIT: Problem solved! See my post below

Everyone's Avatar has disappeared. I only see mine. I checked my profile settings and I should be seeing other user's Avatars. Anyone else see this behavior?

June 16, 201610 yr So I made an interesting discovery. Surfing lime-technology forums has been painfully slow these last few months. Nothing I tried really made much difference. I turned off avatars, signatures etc etc.... Seemed slightly faster, but pages were still taking a long time to load (Anywhere from 30 seconds and slower). So just for kicks, I changed the address I am using from regular http to http secure (https://lime-technology.com/forum), and suddenly things are loading blazingly fast!!! I think I can mark this issue as solved for me (though time will tell. Maybe this is just a fluke...) . Anyone else with a similar issue might want to give that a try... NOTE: Make sure not to use www!
