'Mark all messages read'

Featured Replies

Hi,

Something that has bugged me for ages and I've never bothered mentioning it.

How difficult would it be to move (or duplicate) the 'Mark All Messages Read' button to the top of the page rather than it being lost at the bottom..

Thanks for considering..

???

I already see the 'Mark All Messages Read' button at the top of the page and the bottom.

Thats curious - I don't!

Although thats because we are talking about different places - Your image refers to having click on 'Unread Messages' at the top of each section, whereas I want it on the main page (where it currently sits at the very bottom).

I like reading the forums that interest me, then marking all forums as read so I can see easily the changes, rather than having to go into each section individually.

You are looking at the "Home" page of the forum, and it only shows the "Mark All Messages As Read" at the bottom. I would never want to mark all read from Home anyway, since it is not showing me any posts I haven't read.

If you are looking at Updated Topics (Show new replies to your posts), Recent Unread Topics (Show unread posts since last visit), or All Unread Topics (Click here to try all unread topics) then you do get "Mark All Messages As Read" at both top and bottom.

As I said in my post - I know we were talking about different pages..

It's a different use case to you, that doesn't make it any less valid.  There are some forums that I have no interest in reading, yet the home page will show them in bold to indicate unread messages, why should I have to scroll to the bottom of the page to get to that functionality.  Naturally if you don't want to do it from the home page - just don't click the button :)

You added to the post while I was replying. ;)
