Copying data to my array

Featured Replies

Question about the cache drive, I have allocated a 2TB cache drive on my array, I have a great deal of data to copy to my array, what happens if I select more than 2TB of data to copy in one data copy session? If I have the cache drive set to move data at 3:45 AM how exactly does that work? Should I change the cache drive to move its data immediately until I have copied all my data to the array?

There is no setting for moving immediately, but you can manually invoke the move in the webUI any time you want.

I guess my question is more about, will the dive fill up during a copy session and if so what happens, will the copy fail?

When copying data to a cached user share, if there is no room on cache it will be written directly to the array.

The copy will fail if the drive fills in the middle of a file transfer. If the min free space has been exceeded before the file transfer starts then the cache will be bypassed.
