Replaced drive, still getting "Device disabled, contents emulated" status

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Replaced what I thought to be a bad drive but when the data rebuild was finished I still have the same status with the device disabled. I'm not quite sure what to do to get the drive back online, hoping it is in the log somewhere but I can't seem to see what is wrong. Thanks in advance for any help!

Update: I tried replacing the SATA cable to the drive in question and re-seating all the drives in their hot swap bays all to no effect.

Update: I replaced the drive with the original that I thought had failed but in fact was ok. The drive rebuild completed and then the parity drive did a check and now everything seems to be working. I'm still not sure why the drive rebuild process could not be completed with a new drive but I'm happy everything is working now.
