Once the parity drive has been reported as faulty it will not get reset to good until you have successfully rebuilt parity.

 

The steps to achieve this are:

  • Stop array and Unassign Parity disk
  • Start array with parity disk unassigned.  This makes unRAID 'forget' the current parity disk
  • Stop the array and reassign the parity disk
  • Start the array to build parity from the data disks.

When the parity build completes it is a good idea to do a parity check to confirm that parity was written correctly.  This should report 0 errors.
